Longer essays may also contain an introductory page that defines words and phrases of the essay's topic. Most academic institutions require that all substantial facts, quotations, and other porting material in an essay be referenced in a bibliography or works cited page at the end of the text. This scholarly convention helps others (whether teachers or fellow scholars) to understand the basis of facts and quotations the author uses to support the essay's argument and helps readers evaluate to what extent the argument is supported by evidence, and to evaluate the quality of that evidence. The academic essay tests the student's ability to present their thoughts in an organized way and is designed to test their intellectual capabilities.

Was Monday’s decision a hollow triumph , a win for theoretical equality at the expense of real justice? I don’t believe so. To be sure, the court’s remedy is disappointing, even cold-hearted. But the constitutional analysis in Ginsburg’s opinion is still a liberal coup. Ginsburg fused the gender equality standard with Obergefell ’s “equal dignity” rationale, demanding a justification for sex discrimination that comports with our contemporary sense of fairness. This fundamentally progressive test should prevent the government from citing anachronistic and unfounded prejudices to justify discrimination. Trans people, in particular, stand to benefit from Ginsburg’s forward-looking rule, which makes clear that archaic phobias and bad-faith paternalism cannot trump equal protection. The story of Morales-Santana may end poorly for Morales-Santana himself. But Ginsburg’s opinion remains a ringing endorsement of gender equality that evolves along with society.

Ethics can sometimes provide moral dilemmas that nurses face when caring for a patient especially if the patient has been diagnosed with an incurable disease whereby the family and their employer do not want it to be disclosed to the patient. In such circumstances the conflict it between ethics and moral dilemma that is enshrined in the NMC (2008) Code of Ethics their role as nurses and moral duty to the patient who wants to know the truth and the patient's health and wellbeing (Benjamin & Curtis, 1992; Edwards, 1996). Thompson et al (2006) stated that ethics and moral cannot work in a vacuum further added that in order to justify moral judgement nurses need prior knowledge of ethical theory. Beauchamp and Childress (2009) added that one needs understanding of moral theory to be able to justify ethical decisions. This demonstrates the extra burden imposed on nurses thereby finding themselves constrained by the difficult responsibilities placed on them to fulfil the NMC (2008) Code of Ethics furthermore those of their employers.

This 45 minute (or 1 hour) Jazz History program was developed to educate children about the origins and early stages of jazz and dance history.  Jazz is defined as improvisation, syncopation and swing, accompanied by dances such as the Charleston, Balboa, Lindy Hop and Collegiate Shag.  Through songs representing the jazz era, the relationship of jazz and dance development are tied to major events in American History during the first half of the twentieth century: such things as early days in New Orleans, WWI, the first jazz recording, prohibition, major migration of blacks from the south to Chicago, organized crime impact during the roaring twenties, musician migration to New York, and the reasons for the decline of dancing to jazz music.
